Fire/EMS Work Group

The Fire/EMS Work Group is a collaborative partnership of fire and emergency medical services agencies working to increase the region’s preparedness to respond to disasters. It strives to build response, mitigation, and recovery capabilities through planning, organizing, training, exercising, and purchasing equipment.

OVERVIEW

The Fire/EMS Work Group serves the 5-county Portland Metropolitan Region, including Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah, and Washington counties in Oregon and Clark County in Washington. Work group projects are typically funded through the Urban Areas Security Initiative, which is managed by the Regional Disaster Preparedness Organization (RDPO). The group uses Standard Operating Procedures established in 2013.
