CascadiA EARTHQUAKE

A Cascadia Subduction Zone (CSZ) has the potential to create a 9.0 magnitude earthquake that would inflict a substantial human, physical, and economic toll across the Pacific Northwest.

ECONOMIC Impact

EcoNorthwest partnered with the RDPO to study the economic impact of a CSZ earthquake. Economic Analysis of a Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake provides insights into the scope and scale of economic disruption. It illustrates the sensitivity of the economy to different types of resilience interventions. And it explores effects on communities who may be disproportionately impacted. It is written for policy makers, planners, business owners, and others interested in understanding the economic impacts of a major earthquake on our region.
